Privacy policy
This policy describes how the Outphet Warehouse app treats information. The app is a warehouse tool for staff. It is published under the Android package name com.outphet.ims. It is operated by Outphet and talks to the warehouse system at erp.outphet.com.
Who this app is for
The app is for warehouse employees who already have a work login. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Information the app uses
The app uses the following information so staff can receive, check, move, pick, pack, and ship warehouse goods.
- Account. Your work login and password are sent to the Outphet warehouse system to sign you in. The app keeps the session on the device in secure storage until you sign out or the session ends. After sign-in, the system returns your name, user id, login, job role, company, and warehouse.
- Warehouse work. Barcodes you scan, and the receiving, quality, putaway, picking, packing, and delivery records you submit, are sent to the warehouse system so stock can be processed.
- Camera. The camera is used only to read barcodes on the device. The app sends the barcode text to the warehouse system. It does not save a photo album of scans and it does not upload camera images.
- Notifications. If you allow notifications, the app gets a Firebase Cloud Messaging token and sends that token, your user id, your warehouse id, and the device manufacturer and model to the warehouse system. This is so the warehouse can send you work alerts. Google Firebase delivers those alerts.
- Bluetooth. Bluetooth is used to find a paired thermal printer and print labels or documents. Printer discovery and printing stay on the device. Android may ask for the Nearby devices permission for this.
- Location permission. The Android app includes location permission because some Android versions require it when an app looks for nearby Bluetooth devices. The app does not track where you go, does not keep a location history, and does not send map coordinates to Outphet.
Product images
Product photos shown in the app are loaded from the warehouse system. The app does not ask you to take those photos.
Who receives information
- Outphet warehouse system at erp.outphet.com, which stores the work account and warehouse records for the company that employs you.
- Google Firebase Cloud Messaging, which delivers push notifications. Google processes the device token for that purpose. Google’s policy is at policies.google.com/privacy.
We do not sell personal information. The app does not include advertising or an analytics tracker.
Why we use it
We use this information to authenticate staff, run warehouse tasks, print labels, and send work notifications. We do not use it for advertising.
How long it is kept
- The session stays on the device until you sign out, the session expires, or you uninstall the app.
- Account and warehouse records stay in the warehouse system for as long as that company needs them for operations, accounting, and legal duties.
- The notification token is replaced when it changes, and it stops being used when you sign out or uninstall the app.
Your choices
- You can turn camera, notifications, Bluetooth, and location off in Android Settings. Some warehouse tasks, alerts, or printing will then stop working.
- You can sign out to remove the session from the device.
- To review, correct, or delete your work account, contact the administrator who created your login. Account records live in the warehouse system, not only on the phone.
Security
The app sends data to the warehouse system over HTTPS. Sign-in session data is stored with the device secure storage. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this same address with a new effective date.
